The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras create the 'Local Mesa truancy' to be established as a new consultative and participation that will analyze, monitor and propose measures to reduce and prevent truancy in the municipality.
Thus, the session will raise the next Full Council a motion that govern the components and functions of the new Local Board against truancy.
In this sense, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "this new body perform various functions related to the analysis, monitoring and implementation of specific measures that support control and prevention of truancy the municipality. "
Thus, the Local Board against truancy is set up as a new organ of participation, consultation and planning that will provide insight and promote concrete track truancy cases at the municipal level, making recommendations for prevention and to derive certain cases to specialized services to get your resolution and strengthen coordination among all stakeholders.
In this regard, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras drives currently a Program of Prevention, Control and Monitoring Truancy with that from the council provides support and resources to families with special social difficulties for schooling and keeping children in schools.
In addition, with the creation of the Local Board against truancy, the council will work with groups involved in education to plan further concrete measures to prevent or eradicate truancy cases in the town.
In this sense, Sanchez explained that "we intend that the Local Board against truancy is established as the channel through which to coordinate and decide actions to reduce truancy, and also allows us to track each case that detected in the municipality in collaboration with agencies and institutions involved. "
Thus, the Local Board against truancy will be composed of 15 members representing different sectors.
Thus the Mesta will be chaired by the Mayor of the municipality, and shall consist of the councilors with powers delegated to Education and Social Policy.
In addition, the Bureau will be part of different representatives from Service to Diversity, Inspection of Primary and Secondary Education, Program Coordinator Municipal Truancy Control, Social Services Coordinator, representatives of Associations of Parents and as representatives of primary schools.
On the other hand, will also be part of the Bureau of Local Truancy representatives of primary and secondary equipment and guidance department centers and a representative of the local police in Puerto Lumbreras.
