The tragedy of the floods will be present tomorrow at the Committee of the Regions of the European Union with a meeting by President Valcárcel and Commissioner for Regional Policy with the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras and Treasury mayor of Lorca, who will explain what happened and the importance of having right now with European aid.
President and Chairman of the Community Committee of the Regions, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, and the Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn, will meet tomorrow at the headquarters of the Committee of the Regions in Brussels with the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez , and Council Member of Finance of the City of Lorca, Luis Amador, to address and analyze the damage caused by the floods in both cities on 28 September.
This meeting will take place after the decision of Council of Ministers of the constitution, immediately, an assessment team, in full cooperation with all concerned authorities, regional governments, legislatures and city-, you can determine the volume of damage, its amount, its possible or not insurance and the share of each Administration in repairing them.
In view of this first analysis, the Cabinet also decided to begin processing, as a matter of urgency, claiming the Spanish request for EU funding to help cover the damage caused by these floods.
Thus, during the meeting, Commissioner for Regional Policy of the European Union, Johannes Hahn, will meet the first interim reports of damage in the areas hardest hit by the floods.
