The Natural Cabezo de la Jara has suffered extensive damage as a result of the floods last September 28.
Specifically, 4,450 hectares have been affected by the strong storm.
Also, over 50 miles of roads and trails ecotourism also have been affected by the rains last month.
In this sense, the damaged areas have a score of native species that have been affected, including shrubs and trees stand as holm, oaks, rushes, junipers and mastic.
In addition, the damage also affected the power grid, as well as springs, waterholes and natural charchas.
Thus, they are performing tasks and conditioning and replacement of damaged roads and trails.
Moreover, floods have also destroyed the chapel at La Tercia in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, patron of Cabezo de la Jara.
This chapel, which was built in the twentieth century and is being rebuilt with the help of the residents of the hamlet.
Finally, it is noteworthy that the natural landscape of Cabezo de la Jara is seen as a Site of Community Importance (SCI), where there is also a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA).
His landscapes are composed mainly of oaks and large-sized pine, rosemary, cistus, and inhabit the different animal species such as the almost extinct tortoise, owl or wild boar.
