Just months ago, on a visit of the president of Paradores, Alarcó Angeles, we promised a future for Puerto Lumbreras facilities.
Promise made with the greatest descaros when the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras and worked only as a restaurant and not having workers assigned to its staff, working as an annex to the Parador de Lorca.
Neither the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, neither the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, wanted to admit that the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras closed its doors as a hotel facility last July.
Both have maintained a comfortable position that left no apparent inability to defend the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras giving continuity solutions.
Even the Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism Jose Manuel Soria, said that the record of employment regulation today would not involve the closure of the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras, when there was no staff assigned to it.
The only truth is that, the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras, closed its doors in the only moment of any democracy that the ruling Popular Party in the three administrations.
This shows the incompetence of the Popular Party, and especially Pedro Antonio Sanchez, who after a decade as mayor, has failed to provide future facilities as important to the town.
It was Spain's Socialist government which opted for the reconstruction and refurbishment of this building, and its conversion into Hotel School, within the Network of Paradores of Spain.
Following this there was a proposal in the House of Representatives, as well as motions in the Regional Assembly and the City Council, requesting the support of other political parties.
The proposal requesting the conversion of the facilities at Parador School was not supported by the Popular Party, being remarkable the refusal of the mayor, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, to this proposal in the regular plenary session of last July.
The PSOE still committed to these facilities, especially after the floods of last September that caused so much damage in the town.
We wonder if our mayor would be so easy on the Government if not of his own party.
Want to hide Parador closure or a decree welcomes aid for the flood that has been manifest farmers themselves against.
We expect a solution to the Parador, and thus we expected for our farmers and ranchers after the flood, a solution that does not come.
A question we ask, is our mayor capable of defending the interests of our town?
