The Department of Equal Opportunities, in collaboration with women's organizations in the municipality, organized various workshops, competitions, and cultural activities throughout the day which was developed in the Cabezo la Jara.
The town of Puerto Lumbreras held during the weekend a day together in which more than 200 local women during the celebration of International Women's Day.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Councillor for Equal Opportunity, Lina Gázquez, joined the conference which featured various workshops, competitions, cultural events and tastings, as well as classroom visits Interpretation of Nature Cabezo de la Jara.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez said that it is "an initiative designed and intended for all women of the town and organized in collaboration with all our associations of women to celebrate Women's Day".
Also, the event featured a meal in which the municipality tasted dishes and musical performances and comic play 'Anacleto divorces'.
In conclusion, Sanchez recalled that during the entire month of March, "the Department of Equality has launched a program for women that includes more than 60 cultural activities, sports and leisure. All activities will take place at the newly opened Centre Women offering new spaces, and which also houses the women's associations in our town. "
