The town of Puerto Lumbreras has opened this morning its traditional Equine Cattle Fair that runs throughout the weekend.
Thus, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez and Councilman Agriculture and Water, José María Parra, inaugurated the Fair listed as one of the oldest in Spain encounters.
This 2013 edition includes the participation of more than 400 animals in a facility of 20,000 meters located in the Regional Market of Cattle, one kilometer from the town towards the hamlet of Esparragal.
"Every year we held two contests of horses, donkeys and mules, and other livestock exhibitions. With this Equine Fair, known as the 'big show', Puerto Lumbreras is the first municipality that opens May Spanish fairs and the first place you move thousands of people interested in livestock, "said Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
Equine Cattle Fair of Puerto Lumbreras traditionally began developing in the Rambla de Nogalte has a tradition of over 80 years, and every year the number of participants who come from different parts of the Region of Murcia and the rest of the national.
Many people attended the opening of the show in which, in addition to buy and sell cattle, you can also know the utensils livestock and animal care they require.
In this sense, Parra stated that "Equine Cattle Fair of Puerto Lumbreras has been hailed as one of the most important meetings for all farmers in the Southeast and every year we have the participation of a greater number of farmers in different parts of Spain ".
In this edition, also include exhibitions of livestock equipment such as saddles or esparto work to encourage and promote craftsmanship livestock among the thousands of people who come to this event.
The Feria de Puerto Lumbreras is devoted every year and has already become a key event not only for farmers.
