Township students who attend college abroad receive a new monthly allowance of € 90 by the City of Puerto Lumbreras.

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Murcia to boost township training students in foreign universities.
So, Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, today signed the agreement, with the City Council to provide new financial support of the municipality college students participating in exchange programs with foreign universities.
Thus, in the event also participated the Vice President for Student and Employment of the University of Murcia, Maria Isabel Sánchez-Mora, and the initiator of the agreement and head of the Department of International Relations, Matthias Balibrea.
The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, explained that "Puerto Lumbreras students who attend college abroad receive new financial assistance from the City, which will complement the existing scholarship granting other Administrations" .
Thus, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras awarded for the academic 2013/2014 new financial aid from 90 euros for each month of stay abroad Township college students participating in one of the exchange programs with foreign universities, such as Erasmus (Exchange with Europe), ISEP (Exchange with the U.S.), or ILA (Exchange with Latin America).
Thus, new financial aid will go towards living expenses of students in other cities.
In addition, aid will be transferred directly to each of the selected students.

The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, explained that "the City Council want to facilitate the training and mobility of university students who choose to supplement their education with academic stays abroad".
Finally, Sanchez noted that "the City Council are also working on a new mobility plan that will allow 300 youth of the town to study for English in the UK".
