The Minister of Universities, Business and Research, José Ballesta, signed a collaboration agreement with the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, distinguishes this locality as 'Municipality Entrepreneur' through which they promote different activities to promote creation and development of entrepreneurial business initiatives.
José Ballesta said "this is an action that the regional government, through the Instituto de Fomento (Info), performs a pioneer in Spain in a municipality pioneer."

With the signing of this agreement, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and Development Institute intensify their collaboration by structuring local measures that contribute positively to the creation of new enterprises, the reduction or elimination of red tape by promoting e-government, the promotion of industrial land and the implementation of incentives and bonuses in local rates that favor entrepreneurship and strengthening existing ones.
Another object of this agreement promoting and strengthening the infrastructure themselves or others that may harbor early stage activities on favorable terms.
In this line, the City Council held that aid to encourage entrepreneurs and companies staying in the Business Incubator Industrial Park, which will be integrated into the Regional Network that coordinates info Nurseries
Also, both administrations cooperate in the valuation of existing enterprise infrastructures and development activities to support the business and potential entrepreneurs through various instruments and integration into the Red Point SMEs.
For its part, the City of Puerto Lumbreras is committed to developing actions to add value to the contribution of entrepreneurs in creating wealth and employment in the municipality, valuing the role of employer and generator of wealth for society as well as to contribute to the involvement of the Centers for Primary and Secondary Education and Vocational Training Centers project municipality in entrepreneurship at an early age.
The distinction 'Entrepreneurial City' is granted by the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research to those municipalities in the region to make the commitment to implement a custom package to support business in your area.
This qualification is open to all municipalities in the region of Murcia.
