The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, has signed a collaboration agreement in Madrid this morning with the Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality, Juan Manuel Moreno, to drive new social programs in the municipality.
Plans will be implemented to promote employment and new planned social programs for families with fewer resources.
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and the Ministry of Social Services and Equality have signed a collaboration agreement to promote new projects related to the social and equality in Puerto Lumbreras.
The Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality, Juan Manuel Moreno, signed this morning in Madrid the agreement which he will develop a protocol for dealing together to develop social programs at the local level.
Thus, Sanchez explained that "the Protocol include training activities and employment promotion and social programs for people with fewer resources in our town".
The list of measures that the Secretary of State and the city encompasses a broad spectrum of industries, from family support to work with people with drug addiction, but without neglecting care projects and assistance to victims of domestic violence, persons with disabilities and youth.
In fact, the City will implement new policies to raise awareness among families and child protection through Public Care Network.
In short, it is a compendium of programs for most vulnerable people.
Sanchez explained that through this new cooperation agreement "will be a follow-up joint commission to analyze social policies developed in the municipality."
Finally, he explained that "will continue implementing programs directed care and social support for families affected by the floods with particular economic and social difficulties."
The Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality, Juan Manuel Moreno, stressed, meanwhile, that this agreement the Government continues battery-aid to a municipality that was particularly affected by "heavy rains" September last year.
"There were painful and irreparable loss of life," she added.
Apart from the urgent measures agreed by the Council of Ministers, the Secretary of State and the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras mobilize now a number of programs aimed at the protection of persons who most affected the natural disaster in 2012.
"The government guarantees its commitment to the most disadvantaged" of the municipality.
The Joint Monitoring Committee on the degree of implementation of these projects will ensure compliance, as well as the development of a repertoire of measures to be "an example of social management".
