The City Council and the Ministry of Health and Social Policy formalized a partnership agreement to provide early intervention services in Puerto Lumbreras.
It will implement prevention, detection and diagnosis and therapeutic intervention in children under 6 years.
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and the Autonomous Community through Social Action Murcia Institute (IMAS), have signed a collaboration agreement to provide services in the Early Childhood Center of Puerto Lumbreras which currently serves more than 80 users under 6 years.
This morning, Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, have signed the agreement with the Autonomous Region allocated 72,022 euros for the provision of early intervention on the premises of the new Center for People with Disabilities of Puerto Lumbreras.
In this sense, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, referred to Early Intervention as an "essential service" which allows to undertake as soon as possible interventions that respond to the needs of children, and help them develop .
Thus, from the Early Childhood Center of Puerto Lumbreras acts preventively and assistance "to enhance the capacity for development and welfare of children, and thus facilitate their integration into the family and social environment, and personal autonomy."
Thus, EI users are under six therapeutic needs, temporary or permanent limitations caused by alterations in their development or risk of suffering.
The aim is to continue offering in Puerto Lumbreras and expand prevention, detection and diagnosis and therapeutic intervention.
Included are also programs for sensory motor stimulation and cognitive, motor, and auditory speech therapy and counseling for the family and social environment.
New Center for Persons with Disabilities
The Early Childhood Center of Puerto Lumbreras is located on the premises of the new Center for Persons with Disabilities.
The new equipment has an approximate area of ​​over 2,100 square meters and includes on one hand the Early Childhood Center with more than 80 seats and soon will house the Center for Persons with Disabilities Day with more than 30 seats.
In this sense, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, explained that "the new center will provide therapeutic services and assistance to promote a better quality of life and enhancing the independence and living conditions in the family, social and community of people with disabilities. "
Also concluded by explaining that "the new center will offer new services Day hitherto non-existent in the municipality to ensure comprehensive care of people with disabilities."
