The Center, which cares for older people with varying degrees of dependence, 39 assists users of the 41 places that have agreed.
The Day Centre has a team of professionals who provide health care, social, therapeutic, maintenance and transportation services.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, and the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, with the director general of Senior IMAS (Instituto Murciano Social Action), Enrique Pérez, and CEO of Social Policy Leopoldo Navarro, visited the Day Centre Township Senior people in order to see the facilities and oversee the operation of the Centre which is at full capacity.
Thus, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "the purpose of this day center is to assist and care for older people who need the service day stays as an alternative to residential housing, improving the quality of life of users and providing assistance to people familiar with dependents ".
Currently, the Day Centre for Older People 39 assists users of the 41 places that have agreed.
The precinct will provide services relating to basic personal needs (food, toilet ...), as well as therapeutic and social health of those most affected by different degrees of dependency.
In this sense, during the visit, the Minister of Health and Social Policy has met the team of professionals working in the center, as well as users who were performing different tasks like gerontogimnasia, rehabilitation and painting workshops.
Note that the building is built next to the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary and has 800 square meters on two floors.
Thus, the center consists of a hall, dining room, kitchen, occupational therapy room, gerontogimnasia room, treatment room and bathrooms elderly, among others.
The center, which is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 19:30 hours, provides users with services such as accessible transportation, breakfast, lunch and snack, prevention, counseling and guidance to promote autonomy, social care and rehabilitation.
They can also receive assistance service and personal development, psychology, occupational therapy, functional rehabilitation, maintenance programs in mental ability and memory, and individual intervention based on each person.
All this by a team of professionals consisting of 15 people.
In addition, it provides training to improve self-care skills, hygiene, cultural and recreational activities, hairdressing and chiropody.
The user requirements for the Day Centre are being registered in Puerto Lumbreras, be over 60 years and have reduced autonomy for activities of daily living.
Thus, applications for admission to the Center may appear in the Social Services of Puerto Lumbreras (968 40 20 71).
