The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Municipal Council, unanimously approved to publicly recognize lumbrerenses farmers and the Region of Murcia for their linkage with the productive economy of the municipality, as well as for their efforts and dedication to agriculture .
Specifically, the Municipal Council has agreed to dedicate a square or a monument to the farmer in the hamlet lumbrerense of The Season-The Esparragal.
In addition, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras celebrated every May 15 the day of San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of farmers, a tribute to the men and women working in the field for his great contribution to society and their influence on the local culture.

In addition, Parra added that "the primary sector being the municipality's economic engine, even in times of crisis, as it represents more than 55% of the active population of the municipality."
Finally, the Municipal Council will forward this agreement to the municipality agricultural cooperatives, agricultural associations established in the resort, agricultural unions implanted in Puerto Lumbreras, associations of the hamlet of La Station-The Esparragal, to FECOAM to PROEXPORT, farmers associations in the Region of Murcia and Agrifood Federations of trade unions UGT and CCOO, on behalf of all workers in the field.
