Puerto Lumbreras has a new sport in the city, rugby.
Fifteen lumbrerenses up the new rugby team "The Thirds of Puerto Lumbreras" which are already training on the grass to show what they know.
Although the team consists of 15 players, the new rugby team has a total of 30 people involved in training.
After a decade of missing aigas of Puerto Lumbreras, one of the pioneer clubs in the region of Murcia in this sport, rugby becomes more strongly than ever to the municipality, with the help of a group of enthusiastic and committed players trained by Jose "El Millan", Juan Carlos "The Guard", Christopher "The Barruca" and Emilio "El Minuto".
In this sense, the workouts are performed in the Municipal football field and take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 21:15 to 23:00 pm and on Saturdays from 18:00 h or 21:00 h.

Councillor for Sports, Jose Aragon, stressed that "we will support the new rugby team everything at our disposal to continue to promote the sport in Puerto Lumbreras".
Furthermore, Aragon added that "it is good news for Puerto Lumbreras the emergence of this new sport, as lumbrerenses fans can learn, practice and compete in our town".
