The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia has entered a collaboration agreement with the Provincial Traffic Chief Murcia, Jerez Cayuela Virginia.
The agreement aims to establish a better and more effective participation of the City in the design, implementation and evolution of road safety policies.
The Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) and the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras have signed a collaboration agreement for the development of new shares in terms of traffic and road safety related data, access to records, as well as start- up annual public awareness campaigns on road safety.
In this regard, the Chief Provincial Traffic Murcia, Virginia Jerez Cayuela, and the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia have signed an agreement by which formalizes accession Puerto Lumbreras the agreement between the DGT and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
Thus, "the Provincial Traffic and the City will open new communication channels to promote traffic safety in Puerto Lumbreras, launching new awareness campaigns and information about setting up new devices traffic conditions in the city".
Thus, the agreement aims to establish a better and more effective participation of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras in the design, implementation and evolution of road safety policies.
Thus, the DGT is committed to providing access to City records on vehicles and drivers, in all cases complying with the Organic Law on Data Protection; periodically communicate information on new registrations, changes of ownership and domicile, and provide data on campaigns accidents and results, among others.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "at present the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras works closely with the DGT and local primary school to educate students on road safety."
In addition, Tunisia has added that "the body of the local police in Puerto Lumbreras continue working on public awareness campaigns on road safety will be scheduled annually in collaboration with the DGT".
Finally it should be noted that create a Monitoring Committee of the convention, to analyze the results of campaigns and new measures to raise awareness among all groups such as children, housewives, elderly and drivers in general.
