The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Municipal Council has unanimously approved an Institutional Declaration on the occasion of the first anniversary of the flood of Sept. 28.
Thus, through the City Institutional Declaration to thank all those individuals and institutions who have contributed to the reconstruction and repair of damage caused flooding in the town.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, said that "the events that occurred on September 28 were moments of tragedy and hard for our people, which revealed the character brave and caring for the vast majority of lumbrerenses ".
Also thanked "the work of all institutions, groups and citizens who joined the reconstruction of the damage caused by the flood of last year"
In this sense, coinciding with the first anniversary of the flood, the Municipal Council has approved this Declaration us on the express solidarity and respect for the great victims of the tragedy, relatives of those killed.
In addition, the City Council Institutional Declaration appreciates the work of other administrations as regional and national government works addressed to restoring services and rebuilding infrastructure were heavily damaged.
Also, after flooding the Municipal Council agreed to remember the victims of the flood by placing a plaque in the most appropriate place as agreed by the three political groups represented.
