The IES Nogalte Rambla de Puerto Lumbreras involved as project coordinator Commenius 'Looking after the planet Locally' that promotes environmental awareness and respect for the natural space.
Participate in the project with schools in Italy, Turkey, Hungary and Poland.
The Rambla de Nogalte Institute of Puerto Lumbreras has hosted students from Italy, Turkey, Hungary and Poland to work in the field of environmental awareness in schools of the European Union.
Working hours are part of the European project Commenius 'Looking after the planet locally', of which the IES Nogalte Rambla is coordinating partner, and which promotes respect for the environment and caring for natural areas within the school population.
Thus, the project was created with the objective of encouraging students positive attitudes and criticisms regarding environmental issues.
To this end, the Institute Nogalte Rambla de Puerto Lumbreras alumnols works with teachers and other educational centers in Italy, Turkey, Hungary and Poland, in a conference in which they have organized workshops, lectures and visits to areas in which promotes respect for the environment.
Councillor for Sustainable Development and European projects, Salvadora Martinez and the Councillor for Education and Culture, Maribel Martinez, participated in the work day with the director of the Institute as well as project and participating students to jointly plan activities in the municipality favoring youth awareness about environmental respect.
Thus, initiatives are planned as the recovery of the botanical garden of the Institute, other international meetings will be held with the participating centers, and scientific dissemination events organized at the Institute, among other initiatives.
In total there were more than twenty students and teachers from Italy, Turkey, Hungary and Poland who participated in the educational sessions of the European project in Puerto Lumbreras.
