More than a hundred people, mostly women, have walked the streets of the town to join the campaign against gender violence.
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has commemorated the International Day Against Violence Against Women with a program of activities driven by the Equal Opportunities Department to raise awareness on the prevention of violence.
Thus, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, together with the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Catalina Gázquez, participated in the conference which is underway in the Center for Women in Puerto Lumbreras.
Activities have included the Solidarity March and reading the Manifesto Against Gender Violence, which have been attended by representatives of different groups in the locality.
Thus, more than a hundred people, mostly women, have walked the streets of the village.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "it is important for society to know this great social problem to finish it. Express, with lumbrerenses women, our firm rejection of this violence, and our commitment to support, understand and accompany all victims of this injustice. "
Also during the week have been conducting various activities to mark the International Day Against Gender Violence which falls on November 25.
In this sense, it has developed an information campaign in the weekly market and has organized a Forum Cinema with the film directed by Javier Balaguer "only child."
Finally, Tunisia concluded by explaining that "activities have targeted various groups and population groups of the municipality, thereby trying to increase awareness, reflection and prevention of domestic violence through dynamic and participatory activities."
