The CEO of Agri-food industry and agricultural training, Ángel García Lidón, and the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, presented the diplomas of education programs that have been launched in the town.
Among the 20 programs offered include; 'Safe handling of tractor', 'Animal welfare', 'almond tree pruning', 'Safe handling of tractor' and 'PPP Handler' or 'Introduction to crop production and farm management agricultural ', among others.
More than 400 farmers in Puerto Lumbreras have specialized through more than a dozen training programs related to the primary sector.
So, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, the CEO of Agri-food industry and agricultural training, Ángel García Lidón, and Councilman Agriculture, and Water, Jose Maria Parra, have presented the diplomas to farmers and ranchers who have participated in training programs "which are intended to increase training, specialization and modernization of the primary sector in the town"
So, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "in Puerto Lumbreras the agriculture and livestock constitutes one of the main drivers of the local economy. Therefore, the City Council put in place specific actions favoring development of companies in this sector in our town '.
Thus, the programs offered through the local Training Plan to suit the needs of the labor market.
Specifically, the courses have been taught: 'Safe handling of tractor', 'Animal welfare in transport', 'almond tree pruning', 'Handler PPP', 'Animal welfare in transport', 'Animal Welfare in pigs 'and Initiation of crop production and farm management'.
Thus, collective beneficiaries of these courses have been young adults linked to the agricultural and livestock sector.
In total 95,825 euros have been invested by the Autonomous Community to strengthen the training of primary agriculture and livestock.
It is noteworthy that, through an agreement between the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and ADEA-BDA have launched new initiatives to promote the development of the agricultural and livestock sector.
The City Council serves information, training, support and advice that will be accessible to farmers who request it at the Municipal Offices of The Season-Esparragal.
Also, through the Local Education Plan, the City and the Community will continue to drive specialized training programs related to agriculture and livestock.
