The Mayor has overseen this morning the start of works on the promenade of Murcia, with which increases security to prevent future floods.
The actions are intended to eliminate the accumulation of sediment caused by the flood last year and solve the problems caused by erosion.
"These actions are part of a comprehensive work plan being developed by the CHS in the wadis that pass through the town as Nogalte, Béjar, Vilerda and Murciano".
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, through the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), is running a series of improvement works in the Rambla del Puerto Lumbreras Murcia aiming remove sediment buildup caused by the flood last year as well as solve the problems caused by soil erosion caused by water power.
This morning, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, accompanied by Councilman Works, Eliseo Sanchez and Councilman Rural Development, José María Parra, have overseen the start of works on the Rambla del Murciano in which have invested 44489.28 euros.
Thus, the action that is being developed is dredged from the coastline, forming a speck on the left bank, thus to promote the defense of the hamlet of lumbrerense-Esparragal Station.
In this sense, the base has protected the promenade with a jetty and slope water native species will be planted.
Also, to increase the drainage capacity laramblaen slope will increase the length of the performance and the trees that constitute obstacles are removed.
