The CEO of the state-owned waters of the Mediterranean Basin (Acuamed) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), Arcadio Mateo del Puerto, and the president of the Community of Irrigators of Puerto Lumbreras, Antonio Martínez Reverte have today signed an agreement for the execution of additional works distribution of water from the desalination plant-Guadalentin Águilas, Murcia.

The works under this new agreement will be executed by Acuamed, including 9 miles of pipelines, a raft and a pumping station and will require an investment of 3.3 million euros, which will be co-financed with European funds.
The action aims to build a complementary distribution system, from the branch connection to driving Alto Guadalentin from Cerro Colorado, will raise the water from the desalination plant to the point of consumption Irrigation Community.
This new system will be located in the area of ​​Los Elviras and will consist of a new raft of 44,000 m3 capacity, fueled by the Branch Connection to Take 2 of the High Drive Guadalentin from Cerro Colorado by 2.97 km of steel pipe, and a pump station with a capacity of 398 l / s and a drive pipeline with a total length of 5.64 km.

The plant has already reached production points equivalent to 60% of its capacity, with a planned for next 46% of its total capacity and 58% capacity intended for irrigated production year.
