The City and the Autonomous Community have signed a collaboration agreement for the provision of Day Care Centre for the Elderly in the town.
Through this agreement has resources and services to cater to 41 users in order to enhance their autonomy and right of living in their own home environment and social and community conditions.
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the ministry of Health and Social Policy, have signed a collaboration agreement for the provision of Day Care Centre for the Elderly in the town.
The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "this is a renewal of the previous agreement that aims to meet the social needs of older dependent people of our town, making effective the right of citizens to enjoy basic levels of social welfare in order to improve their living conditions in their environment. "
Thus, through this agreement, available resources and services to cater to 41 users Puerto Lumbreras, in order to enhance their autonomy and right of living in their own home environment and social and community conditions.
Specifically, the services received by users with dependence Day Care Centre for the Elderly are food, cooking, grooming and hygiene, washing and review of linen, cleaning, medical care, nursing care, physical, occupational, technical advice , psychology, education and transportation services.
Notably, in addition to 41 places per unit which includes the agreement with the Autonomous Community, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has a network of social services for dependent people resources through which cater to 10 users in the Day Care Center for Older People with intellectual disabilities through signed with the IMAS (Instituto Murciano Social Action) agreement.
Day Care Centre for Older People
The Day Care Center "Pastor Augustine Tárraga Ortega" was built through an investment of 1,400,000 euros, and its facilities occupy two floors built on a plot of 800 square meters.
The ground floor is for dependent elderly people, while the other is directed to people with Alzheimer's.
The center has qualified as nurses, psychologists, social workers or occupational therapists in order to meet the needs of dependent people staying during the day staff.
It also includes an auditorium, cafeteria, dining room, kitchen, living deterapia ocupacionaly gerontogimnasia room.
