The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities held today in Puerto Lumbreras R Day Regional Specialization in service learning (AySS) aimed at socio-professional field and aims to develop learning while a supportive service is performed in the community education, improving the education of students.
The Director General of Educational Quality, Innovation and Attention to Diversity, Begoña Iniesta, accompanied by the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria de los Angeles Tunis, opened this day in which the techniques and programs are analyzed to promote 'learning and Services Solidarity 'in schools.
Begoña Iniesta stressed that the "approach promotes student learning and motivation; prevent and reduce truancy, and promotes personal and social development, promoting coexistence in the classroom and the social and educational inclusion."
Furthermore, this methodology also benefits teachers because specific education for citizenship, facilitating the assessment of basic skills, improve coexistence in the classroom and promotes the relationship between school and community.
The day included the presentation "Service-learning: learning to life the motivation to activate and facilitate the processes of educational and social inclusion ', given by Mendía Rafael Gallardo, pedagogue ZERBIKAS Bilbao Foundation.
Similarly, the presentation "Service-learning as an educational practice that promotes collaborative school-community relations', given by Mayor Domingo Paredes, social educator and teacher of Almería was held.
In addition, representatives of the Service to diversity of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, University of Murcia, Educational Inspection and Education professionals of many schools in the region: directors of centers and professionals Social Services of different municipalities, and representatives of AMPAS.
