The Civil Guard Murcia under the 'Plan of police response to the theft of copper wiring' has developed, in recent months, an investigation related to the theft of water meters in many homes of Puerto Lumbreras, an action that has led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator.
The result of the investigations carried out by the Guardia Civil have allowed to clarify, for the moment, 17 events also led to the lack of water supply in many homes the village of the town.
Proceedings were initiated in mid-April, when specialized public safety prevention agents learned of several cases of theft of water meters in buildings of the town, about events that had caused some disquiet amongst the population.
The Civil Guard then began inspecting waste management centers of the environment Puerto Lumbreras, locating in one of them 14 meters and 11 kg of copper, in addition to being sold in close to the thefts date had matches in the type of cut made on the pipes.

The investigation culminated in the arrest of a neighbor Puerto Lumbreras, 38 years old, has been arrested on suspicion of felony theft for the theft of 17 water meter and copper pipes with a higher value to the two thousand euros.
