The Department of Tourism has organized the new program includes several initiatives at the Astronomical Observatory, visits to the new Interpretation Centre of Nature, and activities at the Youth Hostel and the environment Cabezo la Jara.
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Tourism has launched during the months of July, August and September a new program of activities with which the Council aims to strengthen rural tourism in the town.
The Mayor, M ª Ángeles Tunisia and the Councillor for Tourism, Maribel Martinez, presented this morning the new initiative includes various leisure activities and leisure that are complemented by guided tours of the Astronomical Observatory visits the new Interpretation Centre of Nature Youth Hostel and the natural environment of the Cabezo Jara.
"On the occasion of the arrival of the summer months, the Department of Tourism is committed to a new program of activities and tourist events in the natural surroundings of the town that will complement the existing cultural offer in the city," says the Mayor, M ª Ángeles Tunisia.
Specifically, the new program that drives the session includes the Campaign 'Meet the Stars', which offers activities such as guided tours, lectures and seminars outdoors and observing the different constellations through Telescope Observatory Cabezo of Jara.
Thus, "the program" Meet the stars' can bring the world of astronomy to the people and is established as an alternative to summer activities to be held during Wednesdays and Saturdays in July, August and September from 22.00 hours. "
In this area, the program includes a special day on August 12 with the 'Stars Rain'.
To this day, City Hall and the Astronomical Association of the Region of Murcia, have organized an activity in which the dramatic drop in 'Perseids' popularly known as' Starfall' or 'Tears of St. Lawrence "will be observed.
The event will feature a seminar outdoors where constellations are explained and various recreational activities such as legends or stories about the constellations will be made.
Moreover, the program 'Promotion of Rural Tourism' includes guided tours of the new Centre for Nature Interpretation every Saturday during July and August from 20:30 to 10:30 p.m. visits.
Among the educational concepts of the visit, highlighting a sample of fossils and minerals of the area, the generic aspects of the landscape, and a sample of scents that can interpret the flora.
In addition, guided by specialized tour includes new hiking trails in the Peak la Jara.
The activities included in the program are free and are managed through the Office of Tourism of Puerto Lumbreras.
