The Mayor, accompanied by the Town Planning and the Councillor for Education, visited the works that are being developed in public schools in the municipality.
Among the actions being undertaken tasks include painting, building ramps, patios and conditioning areas shaded area and repair baseboards and window arrangement.
The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, with the Councillor for Education, Maribel Martinez and the Town Planning and Public Services, Eliseo Sanchez, visited the works being carried out in all schools in the municipality with the aim to improve educational facilities for the beginning of next school year 2014-2015.
Thus, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras leverages the summer months to carry out interventions to adapt, repair and maintenance in schools, updating the classrooms before the start of the new school year.
Among the actions that are taking place in schools in the town include improving access to classrooms incorporating ramps with more safety for students is achieved, and design of playgrounds and areas shaded area, replacing and repairing sockets and paving, curbs demolition or arrangement of windows, shutters and doors, as well as works of plumbing, electricity, cleaning and disinfection, among others.
"With repairs and maintenance, students will find the markedly improved around school holidays," said the Mayor, Maria Angeles Tunisia.
"The goal of this work is to ensure the safety and accessibility, as well as increasing energy efficiency as a sustainable practice. These works, as in previous years, develop during the school holidays, to have the least possible impact on day to day schools, "said the Mayor.
Also noteworthy is the work being developed in the CEIP Juan Antonio Lopez Alcaraz, where you are creating a new cover by placing a new asphalt fabric with thermal insulation.
"With the new housing will improve building insulation and energy efficiency, energy savings and improve facilities for the benefit of lumbrerenses" explained Tunisia.
This action by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia is funded through the Ministry of Education with a budget of 66,360 euros.
So, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras stressed that "these actions continue to improve our schools in this year also will begin in September with school meals in all schools and a new nursery school next to Asunción Jordan."
Improvement works on the municipal nursery school
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras is also implementing improvement and refurbishment works in all municipal nursery school.
