Fourteen lumbrerenses have competed with its own wine harvest earlier this year 2014. This year the winners were, Juan Miguel García Mellinas has gotten the trophy for "Taste" and Juan Ortega Quiñonero which has won the trophy for "Color".
After the contest, which brought together more than 100 people, there has been a ham tasting wines accompanied with participants in this year 2014.
After flooding the Municipal Council agreed to establish the Wine Competition held every year at the Feast of the lumbrerense hamlet of El Esparragal-La Station, take the name 'Wine Tasting Contest Juan Asensio López', in recognition of one of the victims of the flood of September 28, 2012 was winner of the contest in 2011 and participant in all previous editions that year.
