Councillor for Education and Culture, Maribel Martinez, explained that "the City committed to cultural and educational initiatives to promote the habits of younger literacy entity".
The City of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Education and Culture has launched the ninth edition of the illustrated story.
On this occasion, the contest has gathered nearly one hundred participants who have written and illustrated their stories based on Christmas themes.
Four special awards for students in 3rd, 4th and 5th primary and best illustrated story were granted.
Thus, the winners have been Alejandro Ruiz with "Unexpected gifts" best story among the stories submitted by students of 3rd primary;
Iker Guevara with "Once upon a time Christmas in Puerto Lumbreras" 4th primary;
and Francisco Carrillo with "Dream Antonio" from 5th grade.
On the other hand, the winner for the best illustration of all the submitted work has been Salwa Maou with "Rebeca and fantastic journey."
Note that all participants tales remain exposed in the Municipal Library of the town and the Library of The Esparragal Station.
Thus, the best stories have been rewarded with school supplies that has delivered the Councillor for Education and Culture, Maribel Martinez, students authors of the stories.
