Stories Marathon, literary events and awards from readers of the year are some of the activities scheduled to mark the International Day of the Book.
The City of Puerto Lumbreras has launched, through the Department of Culture, a comprehensive program of activities to celebrate the Month of the Book with the aim of encouraging reading among different sectors of the population in the locality.
Thus, between programming activities are workshops, competitions, exhibitions and literary events and awards Readers of the Year.
Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Maribel Martinez, explained that "the organization of these activities is essential these days as school enjoy listening to stories and encouraging from an early age the love of storytelling and reading" .
