The City of Puerto Lumbreras develops a draft social care with resident Roma community in the municipality.
This project is part of the actions of comprehensive social intervention for care, prevention of marginalization and integration of Roma, thanks to the line of funding allocated to the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The City of Puerto Lumbreras, sensitive to the needs posed by the Gypsy community, is developing a series of training activities aimed at this population.
In this sense, is being developed from March a training workshop aimed primarily at Roma women, aimed at the acquisition and improvement of labor, health, education, training habits, basic skills, gender and equality, sexuality, and other topics of interest to the attendees.
The workshop is held one day a week at municipal offices of Barranco Castle area, and attended by more than 20 women.
Another action planned is conducting a workshop on "minor repairs", aimed at young Roma, related to habitat improvements, healthy and sustainable environments, with expected participation of more than 20 participants.
The mayor, Maria Angeles Tunisia, participated in a day of education developed in the town.
