The municipality has hosted a conference to mark World Dance Day with dancing and choreography in the public park Reina Sofia which involved the Association of Ria Pita Dance, Songs and Dances 'Virgen del Rosario' and a group of Batuka.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has organized a program of activities to mark the International Dance Day.
The initiative, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with all the associations of dance of the municipality has included various measures in the new public park Reina Sofia, and the reading of a manifesto and free dance workshops for all citizens.
Specifically, local associations who participated in the initiative have been the Cultural Association Ria Pita, Songs and Dances Virgen del Rosario and a group of Batuka.
From 18.00 they have begun various dance workshops in the new public park Reina Sofia.
There, citizens have learned the main steps of contemporary dance, folklore.
Modern, flamenco and funk, among others.
In addition, groups of dance choreography have shown that work throughout the year.
April 29 every year since 1982 by the CID-UNESCO initiative is celebrated around the world the "World Day of Dance".
