The Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, has brought public information harnessing 105,000 cubic meters of rainwater in Puerto Lumbreras, requested by the community of irrigators in this municipality.
These resources, which until now were not used, will complement the irrigation of 1,025 hectares of crops, mainly for table grape plantations, citrus, lettuce, broccoli and almonds.
The waters come from storm drain in the southern part of the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
The irrigators can install a pipe collection and derive the amount indicated to a raft of regulation.
This infrastructure would join one that already exists in the northern part of town and, once in place, the overall use of water from rain on the crops in the area guaranteed.
The deadline for public information is one month, to perform at the offices of the Public Water Area of the CHS in Murcia.
