The Department of Tourism has organized the new program including astronomical observations, visits to the Interpretation Center of Nature, as well as activities at the Youth Hostel and the environment Cabezo la Jara.
The program includes a special meeting Aug. 12 to coincide with the "Tears of St. Lawrence" popularly known as "Lluvia de Estrellas"
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Tourism, has launched during the months of July and August a new program of activities with which the Council aims to strengthen rural tourism in the town.
Specifically, this initiative includes various leisure activities and free time complemented with astronomical observations, visits to the Interpretation Center of Nature and Youth Hostel natural environment Cabezo la Jara.
"On the occasion of the arrival of the summer months, from the Department of Tourism we committed to promoting our natural landscape of Cabezo de la Jara with tourist activities and events to complement the cultural offerings of our municipality."
Specifically, the program promoted by the council includes the campaign "Meet the Stars", which offers activities such as guided tours, lectures and astronomical observations in the Cabezo de la Jara.
Thus, the program "Meet the Stars" can bring the world of astronomy to the public and is established as an alternative to summer activities taking place during Wednesdays and Saturdays in July, August, from 22.00 in the esplanade of the hostel Cabezo de la Jara, whose entrance is free.
In this area, the program includes a special session on August 12 to coincide with the "Tears of St. Lawrence" popularly known as "Rain of Stars".
To this day, City Hall and the Astronomical Association of Murcia, have organized an activity in which the spectacular fall "Perseids" .The conference will be observed with an outdoor workshop in which the constellations are explained and various recreational activities such as legends or stories about the constellations will be made.
In addition, the program 'Promotion of Rural Tourism' has guided the Interpretation Center of Nature on Saturdays in July and August from 20:00 to 10:00 p.m. visits.
Among the didactic concepts of the visit, features a sample of fossils and minerals from the area, the generic aspects of the landscape as well as a sample of aromas to interpret the flora.
In addition, guided by specialized tour includes new trails in Cabezo la Jara.
The activities included in the program are free and are managed through the Tourist Office of Puerto Lumbreras.
