More than thirty lumbrerenses learn to develop goat cheese using traditional methods and acquire the knowledge necessary to set up a dairy.
The Councillor for Agriculture, José María Parra, explained that "we launched this workshop to encourage job creation and job specialization in the primary sector, one of the main drivers of the local economy of our town."
It has already begun the training course "Craftsmanship of goat cheese" to be held in the coming weeks in the municipal offices of the lumbrerense hamlet of La Station-Esparragal.
Specifically, more than thirty lumbrerenses learn how to make goat cheese using traditional methods and acquire the knowledge necessary to set up a dairy.
Thus, the Councillor for Agriculture, Water and districts, Jose Maria Parra, explained that "we launched this year to encourage job creation and job specialization in the primary sector, one of the main engines the local economy of our town "
In this sense, the course consists of two training modules with a theoretical part, which takes place in the municipal offices of The Esparragal Station, and practical, to be held in the Integrated Training Center Lorca and experiences athanks (CIFE).
In the theoretical part, students learn the basics of quesificación, the analyzes of milk, different types of rennet, additives and yeast, as well as the types of cheeses, manufacturing methods and main marketing channels.
Moreover, students will have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice, after passing the first module.
Thus, conduct analysis of milk and cheese products and draw by hand.
Also, Jose Maria Parra added that "with this training increase the job opportunities for unemployed people, because once the course, students will have acquired appropriate professional training and guidance to create your own cheese".
Note that this course has been organized by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Association for the Integral Development Campodos, who has financed this training.
For the latter, the council has stressed that "the implementation of such training activities favor rural development through diversification of activities, creating new sources of revenue to ensure the future of the primary sector of the municipality."
