The new cave themed "The school in Medina Nogalte" has three distinct spaces that recreate what life was like for children and school in the 50s.
The Mayor explained that "the objective of this initiative is to incorporate a new stop on the cultural tour of the city and promote tourism development in our municipality."
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has launched a new thematic cave "School in Medina Nogalte" in the tourist complex of cave houses and Nogalte Castle.
So, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Maria Victoria Jerez, visited the facilities of this new tourist attraction.
Specifically, the new cave, which has been restored and equipped with museum content, offers 3 interconnected spaces.
First, visitors will find a welcoming space with three panels explaining what life was like for children in the cave houses, how was your school and its games.
On the other hand, the second space houses a recreation of a college class and installed panels that explain how was teaching at the time.
Thus, the third and final space is audiovisual and consists of two screens on which a comparison is performed on images of what school was like in the 50s with the school today.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, explained that "with this new project increased the educational content of Medina Resort Nogalte and enrich the cultural tour of our town with a new museum space".
Thus, this project is based on knowledge of the lifestyle, customs and traditions in the cave houses, the only visitable in the Region of Murcia.
Visitors will learn about the origins of the municipality through recreations of how was the environment and how people lived in the cave houses.
