Tomorrow the city will host the I Diabetes Healthy March from 10.00h from the gym Naturans Center.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Health, has launched an information campaign to coincide with World Diabetes Day, celebrated on November 14 morning.
Thus, it has set up a tent, which have turned hundreds of lumbrerenses, and there have been free glucose controls.
The mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia, stressed the importance of such campaigns and explained that "this initiative we aim to raise awareness about this disease and its risks."
The free glucose level controls have been conducted by medical specialists in the weekly market of Puerto Lumbreras throughout the morning.
In addition, these controls continue to take place on Sunday November 15 at the weekly market-Esparragal Station.
Significantly, the campaign includes information and advice on the treatment and prevention of disease.
In this sense, the Mayor, Maria Angeles Tunisia, explained that "the objective of this program is to inform people about the disease, help those who suffer and promote action to help prevent diabetes."
For this, the council has organized the First Run Healthy occasion of World Diabetes Day.
This test will take place tomorrow, Saturday November 14, from 10:00 am.
The output will be in the gym Naturans Center with a distance of seven kilometers.
Finally, the Mayor said that "healthy habits, a balanced diet and moderate exercise are the best prevention to avoid the development of this disease."
