One hundred children in the public school Villaespesa of Lorca have traveled to Puerto Lumbreras to visit the Castle Nogalte and themed Cave Houses, the only visitable in the Region of Murcia.
Specifically, the students have done a cultural tourism along the periphery and inside the castle tour to learn in a fun and entertaining way, the existence of an Islamic fortress, the caves used as dwellings for centuries, the importance of water culture or local crafts of the municipality.
Thus, the visit began in the workshop Artisan House, a space for musealization trades related to the activity of the various entities that make up the Association of Artisans of Puerto Lumbreras.
Thus, the visit continued with a tour of the inside of all the cave-houses that make up the tourist trail.
In this sense, the children visited the House-Cave "We recovered our history", "Life and traditions in Cave houses", "Audiovisual Cave" Cueva Teaching "," Culture of Water "and" The medieval castle Nogalte: Islamic enclave ".
In addition, students also met the new cave "School in Medina Nogalte" which has been recently restored and equipped with museum content.
This cave, which was the most striking for children, has 3 spaces interconnected.
First, small they met in a welcoming space with three panels explaining what life was like for children in the cave houses and what his school in the 50s and 60s.
The second area of ​​this cave is home to the recreation of a college class and installed panels that explain how was teaching at the time.
Thus, the third and final space is audiovisual and consists of two screens on which a comparison is performed on images of what school was like in the 50s with the school today.
Finally, it notes that this activity is part of the annual program of visits designed by the Department of Tourism and Culture.
