Puerto Lumbreras held the first edition of the Week Healthy with gerontogimnasia classes and sports activities in public parks in the city.
Specifically, from 16 to 19 November, a specialized instructor teaches gerontogimnasia addressed to all public and especially older people in the municipality.
So, almost a hundred people have participated in the classes that took place at the newly opened park of La Canada and San Rafael Park, where participants have learned to use the different elements of gerontojardines biosaludables areas and installed in the municipality.
In this way, participants have been some warm-up exercises with elements such as the steering wheel or tiller to improve the musculature, flexibility and agility of the joints.
They have also performed stretching exercises and coordination with other devices such as bars or cross-country skiing.
In this sense, the Councillor for Sports, Juan Francisco Carrillo, explained, "With this initiative we want to show people the possibilities offered by gerontojardines and biosaludables areas of the municipality with the aim of promoting physical exercise in an entertaining and healthy ".
Also on Thursday November 19 gerontogimnasia classes take place at the new park-Esparragal Station from 10.00am.
Meanwhile, on Friday November 20 a day of sports promotion will be held in the public park Reina Sofia aimed at children.
Thus, some sports schools of the municipality held exhibitions, games and activities to encourage sport among children.
In addition, throughout the afternoon, made a small healthy snack promote good eating habits.
Finally, the Councillor for Sports has concluded that "the first edition of the Healthy Week shows that having fun does not conflict with practices of life and a healthy routine."
