Specifically, pedestrian crossings that will feature a new lighting system are located at Avenida Juan Carlos I and Murcia Region.
Thus, the Councillor for Public Spaces, Juan Francisco Carrillo, explained that "we launched this measure to increase the visibility of crosswalks and avoid accidents."
In addition, the council has stressed that "the lighting elements are reinforcement, extra safety, increasing the level of attention of the driver in sensitive places, and anticipating their level of caution."
In this regard, it notes that the LED lights are being installed in 4 pedestrian crossings without traffic lights.
Thus, the implementation of this new system increases visibility and offers more security and control in the area, especially at night, in order to prevent possible abuses and accidents.
