Puerto Lumbreras has held the sixth edition of the Christmas candy part of the programming of the Department of Culture and Tourism for these dates.
Fifty lumbrerenses have participated in the contest that has become one of the Christmas traditions of the town with homemade sweets such as Easter cakes, sandwich cookies, rolls of wine, shortbread, sighs or chocolates of various shapes and flavors among others.
Specifically, the winners were Irene Lopez has won the first prize with their 'Bilbaos' in Puerto Lumbreras, and Antonia Franco took first prize in the hamlet of La Esparragal Station with its "Cream of almond', both awarded with a Typical basket of Christmas products.
On the other hand, the second prizes have been for Susana Perez Herrero Sorrows, and the third prize for Gázquez Juana and Toni Jimenez, as sweet almond shortbread and gingerbread in Puerto Lumbreras almond and almond shortbread and sighs of almond The Esparragal Station.
The initiative also included a subsequent tasting sweets in which more than a hundred lumbrerenses.
Councillor for Culture and Tourism, María Victoria Jerez, explained that "each year more and more people participating in the contest of sweets, both Puerto Lumbreras and in the hamlet of El Esparragal the station, helping to promote and preserve the traditions of the municipality ".
