The heated pools Municipal Sports Center has been equipped with thermal blankets that prevent heat losses and achieve greater energy savings.
In addition, thermal blankets can reduce the use of chlorine for the maintenance and cleaning of the pools, which are used by more than 8,000 users throughout the year.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Sports and in collaboration with Dalkia, thermal blankets installed motorized heated pools Municipal Sports Center in order to keep the water temperature, prevent heat loss and achieve greater energy savings.
Specifically, the saving measure has been applied to the two heated pools located in the Sports Complex where you installed a solar blanket to cover reinforced pool 25x12.5 meters and another to cover of 6x12.5 meters.
Solar covers are made of polyethylene with air bubbles sealed high strength, and reduce the use of biomass boiler used to heat water for the facility, which also has a system of solar panels for this purpose .
In this sense, the Councillor for Sports, Juan Francisco Carrillo, explained that "with the installation of these isothermal blankets we eliminate 75% of heat loss due to evaporation and heat loss by radiation."
In addition, the councilman added that "with this new measure save energy and reduce air conditioning costs of the pools at night."
Also, it notes that the thermal blankets installed to isolate the pool water at night can reduce the chlorine used to keep the water clean.
Finally, it notes that the City of Puerto Lumbreras and Dalkia entered into a collaboration agreement to reduce energy consumption and C02 emissions.
Thus, this measure is part of the Action Plan for Energy Services aimed at the adaptation and integration of renewable energies in the premises of Municipal Sports Centre.
