The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed a research aimed at identifying and, where appropriate, detain the person who had installed a recording device and storing images in the toilet of a gym in Puerto Lumbreras, which has resulted with the arrest of a young man who is credited with authorship of the alleged offense against privacy, the right to self-image and the inviolability of the home.
The investigation began when the Civil Guard was alerted, by the manager of a gym in Puerto Lumbreras, the finding of an electronic device in one of the toilets of that establishment, which had raised suspicions among local users.
The Civil Guard located the said device hidden in a tangle of toilet paper next to the toilet bowl.
It is a micro flash drive with a built-in camera capable of recording and storing images.
Researchers have examined said electronic device and have found that, at that time, were recorded images of both the person that someone had installed the micro camera and at least while performing their physiological needs.
Research has continued with the identification of the alleged perpetrator and sports center user of said male, aged 22, Spanish and resident of Puerto Lumbreras has been arrested on suspicion of crimes against privacy, the right to self-image and the inviolability of the home.
The arrested, the intercepted material and the proceedings have been delivered in the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Lorca (Murcia).
