The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, said today that his department has commissioned the beginning of the drafting of the project for the construction of a roundabout on the RM-D16 road, between Puerto Lumbreras Esparragal with the station, and that It will be located at the height of the Regional Livestock Market, of the town of Puerto Lumbreras.

So he communicated today the head of the Ministry of Development to the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, during a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry and also attended by the General Director of Roads, Jose Antonio Fernandez.

This will replace the current infrastructure especially dangerous intersection at the junction of several roads and high traffic intensity recorded in that road, which accumulates the annual pace of more than 1.6 million vehicles, of which 115,000 are trucks and heavy vehicles .

With this work, the Minister of Development said "the security conditions on the movement of vehicles will improve and facilitate access to the Cattle Market and downtown disinfecting, removing a black spot for traffic".

For its part, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras has stated that "the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the regional government, has made a major effort in recent years to equip Puerto Lumbreras of an optimal network of roads and highways to facilitate and improve traffic and road safety in the city. "

For this performance, the Department of Development works with foresight to conclude the drafting and carrying out the bidding of the works this year, in order to execute its construction and make it available to users as soon as possible.
