283 pine, rosemary 120 plants, 86 with broom 80 plants of thyme, palmettos 20, 20 and 20 durillos holly in order to increase green space and wooded area in the city will be planted.
This initiative is part of the Municipal Improvement Plan public spaces and green areas launched by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Sustainable Development and the Department of Public Spaces, planted about 700 trees and forest plants in parks, gardens, streets and avenues of the city.
Specifically, 283 pine trees of different species, 120 plants of rosemary, 86 with broom 80 plants of thyme, palmettos 20, 20 and 20 durillos holly in order to increase green space and wooded area in the city will be planted.
Similarly, other species such as date palms, cypresses, firs thuyas or in streets, plazas, avenues and different public spaces of the urban environment will be planted.
In addition, it is also planned planting trees and shrubs in all public parks in the city.
Councillor for the Environment, Angela Morillas, explained that "we selected for each type of public space species, taking into account the factors that favor the tree root and the place that best suits".
It should be noted that the City has acquired nearly 700 trees and forest plants through a grant received from the Directorate General of Rural Development and Forestry of the Autonomous Region of Murcia.
Finally, it is noteworthy that this initiative is part of the Municipal Improvement Plan public spaces and green areas launched by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
