This morning the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras and Regional Representative, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, held a meeting with the Government Delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, to seek investment in the improvement of the Works of the Parador Nacional de Turismo de Puerto Lumbreras, the surge of Public Safety and the opening of a post office in the hamlet of Esparragal-Station, a need that is detecting the municipality for several years.
With respect to proceedings concerning the Parador de Turismo Mayor stressed that "the City agrees to lease about 4,000 square meters of land for future redevelopment of the Parador, but that in turn requires new investment for some major improvements to renovation and rehabilitation of infrastructure and
that the money allocated by the Ministry is currently in maintenance costs. "
In this way the government delegate agrees to preside at Puerto Lumbreras Safety Board which will address local issues of Citizen Security of the municipality, in this sense, the mayor has requested Rafael Gonzalez, the increase in the number of troops in the Garrison House Puerto Lumbreras.
The reforms and improvements of the barracks of the Guardia Civil has also been one of the issues addressed by the high interest charges, and where Gonzalez is committed to this improvement starts in a short period of time.
In the same way, Sanchez has informed the Government Delegate on the construction of a Citizen Security and Emergency in the city, where according to the mayor 'I have made available to the Officer the space to be used by the Guardia Civil intended to improve infrastructure and work of these troops, and to help them carry out their work in a more appropriate and comfortable, facilitating collaboration between staff and the Local Police and Civil Protection are also located in this building. "
Another issue addressed during the meeting held this morning, has been the need to open a post office in the council of Esparragal-Station, a rural area which has a dispersed population of more than 3,000 people and currently deficient in the postal service for many years.
