The Department of Sports City of Puerto Lumbreras organizes the course "Self Defense for Women" aimed at lumbrerenses of all ages who are interested in acquiring skills and techniques designed to combat and defense.
The course of 16 hours, is divided into two training groups, one for a general defense techniques, in which there are currently 12 women enrolled and the course of self-defense techniques of force in cases of violations or theft, which have been registered 25 lumbrerenses.
The course took place in Hall Street School San Javier is held in the town for the first time and whose main objective is to acquire the basic techniques to defend against a possible assault or a real confrontation.
The techniques do not require years of practice to implement them since these techniques must be practiced and reviewed continuously and mentally able to use them so well reflected in any situation.
With the completion of this course in addition to mastering certain physical movements, also gets to be psychologically prepared to react appropriately in situations of violence, especially in case of rapists and assaults, with or without the use of physical force.
According to the Councillor for Sports, Mariano Carrasco 'We wanted to make a course of its kind, designed especially for women the figure, because it has a greater vulnerability to this type of situation and may become victims in any situation of street violence '.
