The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Sports, has asked the Autonomous Community grant for the construction of a velodrome discovered on the premises of the athletic Polideportivo Municipal de Puerto Lumbreras.
The work would involve the construction of an artificial track oval with rounded ends where you can practice the sport of cycling.
The facility would consist of an access tunnel to tracks, access to stairs, steps, track velodrome, track, long jump and sprint track with an initial budget increased to 1,185,000 euros.
The total area occupied by the velodrome would amount to 5,680 m2 and the area of 450 m2 have tier, which has a total of 6,130 meters square of total employment composed of a central building elliptical body conditioning steps designed to 240 spectators.
The velodrome would rope 250 meters, with maximum gradient of 38 degrees and a low of 11 degrees, which is a track edge height of 1.39 meters and 4.62 meters at the ends.
According to the Councillor for Sports, Mariano Carrasco, 'the construction of this new infrastructure in the town of Puerto Lumbreras a breakthrough for the sport of cycling, because there are many fans of cycling that would cover their needs' .
