The full City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, held last night to celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of Independence, approved the creation of the Official Anthem of Puerto Lumbreras.
The symphony was composed by the musical composer and Chair Professor of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia, Sixto Manuel Herrero.
The anthem will debut during the activities held in the Institutional Act, on Monday July 7th and will be interpreted by the European Symphony Orchestra, directed by Luis Cobos.
Throughout history, Puerto Lumbreras has created its own traditions and symbols, thus creating his own identity as a city, so, in 1966 approved the creation of the Shield of Puerto Lumbreras, while in 1998 it initiated the procedures for the creation of the flag of the municipality.
And now, coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of the county, when approved, through the Plenary of the Consistory lumbrerense the Official Anthem of Puerto Lumbreras.
The mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "the Official Anthem of Puerto Lumbreras is approved in order to continue creating our own identity, echoing our recent past and our roots as consolidating lumbrerenses."
"It was an honor to write the official anthem of Puerto Lumbreras making its formation a symphony that will represent an entire people, reflecting the idiosyncrasies of Puerto Lumbreras and passing city," according to the composer Sixto M.
Herrero.
MANUEL HERRERO SIXTO
Born in Rafal (Alicante), do higher studies in saxophone, composition and conducting at the Conservatory of Alicante and Valencia with professors José Miret, Jaime Belda, Ramon Ramos and Manuel Galduf respectively.
He has recorded a CD of contemporary Spanish music entitled "At nine o'clock, Lord Berri, with the saxophone quartet Sax Ensemble and Ars Musicandum, also participated as a soloist on recordings for National Radio of Spain with the City Chamber Orchestra of Elche, and has collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia and the Philharmonia of Santiago de Compostela.
In the same way he has been invited to participate in the World Congresses of Valencia saxophone, Montreal and Minnesota.
As a composer he has premiered many works and edited collections for Saxophone "Can We Talk" and "All aboard."
He obtained Honours in Religious Music Competition II Fernando Rielo of Rome (Italy) with the play "Room of Light" for voices and orchestra and Honorable Mention in the International Composition II Montreal (Canada) the String Quartet "Ignotalías", recorded by the Molinari Quartet with the label ATMA Classique.
He has composed original soundtracks of "Thirteen" and "Conciliation" by Fernando Canet.
In his work as a conductor has recorded the CD's Prima Luce and customs.
He has conducted the orchestras in the Mediterranean Encounters in Alicante Saxophone and Chamber Orchestra Ciudad de Elche.
He is currently professor of the chair of composition at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia and director of the music school of Montesinos, his musical group and part of the saxophone quartet "Ars Nusicandum."
