The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras and Regional Representative, Pedro Antonio Sánchez announced this morning the creation of the Business Incubator as one of the main axes of Almond Project (MUR-AL), presented last July by the Regional Government.
This project was launched thanks to the local government and the European Union as an initiative where 22 towns in the region will benefit from almost one million euros funded by the European Union and the Revitalization Plan for the Economy and Employment the Region of Murcia.
This project seeks to reposition the crop economically and culturally from the kernel as the main product of the Region of Murcia and Puerto Lumbreras in particular.
One of the main focuses of the project in the municipality Almendra, is the creation of a 'Farm Business Incubator' as an engine of economic advancement, job creation and opportunities through diversification, improved infrastructure and local services and as, support to entrepreneurship in a project that will begin early next year and end in early 2011 with a budget amounting to € 1,000,000.
With the creation of this new Farm Business Incubator is to first, provide infrastructure to the business network environments that offer viable economic development and, secondly, to promote entrepreneurship in emerging sectors that generate employment and sustainable with the environment.
"Employment generation is a priority for the Team, thus diversifying our local economy and creating new spaces for the establishment of new businesses are measures along with other economic field will favor the creation of more jobs work in Puerto Lumbreras, "said the mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
On the other hand, renewable energies represent an emerging sector in the Region of Murcia, therefore the business incubator is configured as a center of support for the establishment of processing plants around the kernel that cover the renewable energy use of waste (shell), manufacture of cosmetics (almond oil), small utensils, timber harvesting of almond and agribusiness, among others.
Companies would be responsible for product diversification and economic activities in the agricultural sector arising from the cultivation of almonds, promote the commercialization of production in the Region of Murcia, create a focal point for marketing and export of products, motivational the entrepreneur to support enterprise policy, drive new business initiatives promoting entrepreneurship and SMEs, to promote the use of renewable energy derived from the disposal of the almond (biomass) and ultimately to link farming with rural land conservation and environmental integration.
This business plan also would ensure the presence of women in business network promoting business networking and participation in fairs and exhibitions for the business sector.
Also diversify the economy through the traditional sectors that generate new initiatives.
The empowerment of traditional products with new designs and new products would also be framed in the development activities of business incubators.
This project is part of the measures announced by the Mayor last July "with the creation of this new business incubator will allocate one million euros to public prayer, thus creating new jobs, and offer the possibility to create new companies in the municipality, and energizing our local economy and supporting young entrepreneurs who decide to invest in the municipality ", he added the mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
