The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has built, through to the Department of Works, a retaining wall on the Ravine Street to prevent movements of land because of rain, sometimes torrential, during the autumn.
Construction, 147 square meters, has risen at a cost of 115,000 euros, funded by the local administration in order to prevent landslides, due to land pressure in contact with water.
This work is carried out on the street Barranco also improved the flow of water that is channeled through conduit avoiding storm water run through the streets of the town.
In the same way the Works Councillor, Eliseo Sanchez, says that "in short time will begin to build another retaining wall in the same area, located under the Castle Nogalte, so that the neighbors the area can be protected in their homes without fear of landslides. "
