Several members of the Local Government Team of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras attended yesterday the opening of the Regional Arts and Crafts Fair held in Lorca, which was inaugurated by the Minister of Economy, Enterprise and Innovation, Inmaculada García Lorca's mayor, Francisco Jódar and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lorca, Eusebio Abellán.
This event takes place at the fairgrounds in Santa Quiteria Lorca from 25 to 28 September, also celebrated his twenty-year celebration gathering artisans and merchants who add to the crafts tradition, innovation, the colorful Mediterranean and light of our region, in the design of their products.
Through the council's Local Development Companies and the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras and with the collaboration of the Association of Artisans of Puerto Lumbreras (ARTEPLU) and the Retailers Association of Puerto Lumbreras (ASEPLU) the craft of the municipality is present at the Fair Regional Craft.
Artisans Association of Puerto Lumbreras (ARTEPLU), once again, has a booth at the Craft Fair.
A total of 14 artisans of the town stand out in the association a selection of handicrafts such as paintings, shoes, soap, work in esparto and embroidery among others.
The craftsmanship of Puerto Lumbreras is characterized by using traditional local materials to manufacture its products, and by using manual techniques moving away from mass production, so it works with wood, stone, ceramics, glass, cane and spelled.
